Toddler and Pre-school Art Play: Art for Ages 2–5
Weekly Drop-In Classes | Read. Explore. Create.
Welcome to Toddler and Pre-school Art Play, a joyful and enriching art experience designed especially for preschoolers ages 2 to 5. In this weekly drop-in class, children will enjoy a fun story followed by a hands-on art project inspired by the book.
Each week, young artists will explore colors, textures, shapes, and ideas through open-ended creative play—building early learning skills while having fun with paint, paper, clay, glue, and more.
Why Art Matters for Toddlers and Preschoolers
According to early childhood development research, engaging in art helps preschoolers:
- Build fine motor skills through cutting, painting, drawing, and gluing
- Develop language and early literacy through story connection and art discussion
- Enhance cognitive flexibility and problem-solving
- Grow emotionally by expressing feelings through color, movement, and material choices
- Practice focus, independence, and patience in a nurturing, low-pressure setting
When paired with storytelling, art becomes even more powerful—it reinforces comprehension, stimulates imagination, and helps young children translate abstract ideas into hands-on experiences.
