Handbuilding Clay for Adults:  Semester Course

Over the course of the semester, we’ll cover all the essential handbuilding techniques:

• Pinch, coil, and slab construction for creating both functional and sculptural forms.

• Hump and slump molds to explore new shapes, textures, and forms.

• Surface design techniques such as carving, texturing, and underglaze decoration.

• Step-by-step guidance through the bisque fire and glaze fire process, so your work is kiln-fired and ready to take home.

By the end of the course, you’ll not only gain confidence working with clay but also complete several finished, food-safe ceramic pieces of your own.
